Promotions and honorary titles assigned on the Day of Armed Forces

As the Ukrainian nation celebrates the Day of the Armed Forces today, it presents a great opportunity to honor military units, commanders, and distribute state awards and honorary titles. We’ve compiled a summary of all units that have received battle flags, honorary names, or awards, as well as the commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who have been promoted to higher ranks based on the Presidential’s decrees released on president.gov.ua.

Combat Units

• 141st Mechanized Brigade received its battle flag.
• 414st Unmanned Systems Brigade received its battle flag.
• 225th Assault Regiment received its battle flag.
• 425th Assault Regiment received its battle flag.
• 108th Assault Battalion received its battle flag.
• 42nd Mechanized Brigade received the honorary title the Hero of Ukraine Valeriy Hudzyas (named after).
• 48th Artillery Brigade received the honorary Colonel of the UNR Army Hryhoriy Chyzhevsky (named after).
• 127th Heavy Mechanized Brigade received the honorary Kharkivska.
• 152nd Jaeger Brigade received the honorary Symon Petliura (named after).

The following units received For Courage and Bravery honorary award for courage and heroism shown during the defense of Ukraine.

• 33rd Mechanized Brigade, 32nd Artillery Brigade, 67th Mechanized Brigade, 117th Heavy Mechanized Brigade, 11th Army Aviation Brigade, 12th Army Aviation Brigade, 65th Coastal Missile Battalion

Commanders

• Colonel Vasyl Syrotenka, the Chief of the Engineering Troops of the Support Forces Command, received Brigadier General rank.
• Colonel Dmytro Vasylevich, the deputy chief of the Joint Staff of the Joint Forces Command, was promoted to Brigadier General.
• Colonel Viktor Bryhints, te deputy commander of the Joint Forces, received Brigadier General.
• Colonel Pavlo Procyuk, the commander of 12th Army Corps, was promoted to Brigadier General.
• Colonel Vitaliy Pazevych, the chief of the Operational Directorate of the Ground Forces, was promoted to Brigadier General.
• Colonel Yuriy Lyulka, the Head of the Main Department of Affairs of the Ministry of Defense, was promoted to Brigadier General.
