In connection with the transformation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces to a corps–brigade structure, a new 68th Artillery Brigade is being formed in the city of Berdychiv. This was announced by the Acting Mayor of the city, Bohdan Kolyada.
“It is important that the military not only carry out their tasks but also become part of the local community. We are planning joint events and social projects that will help establish closer contact between the brigade and the residents of the community. Berdychiv has long been a stronghold of the 26th Artillery Brigade named after General-Cornet Roman Dashkevych. Now we have another artillery brigade that will strengthen our defense potential and boost confidence in the future,” the acting mayor stated.
The city of Berdychiv is already home to the 26th Artillery Brigade, and the new brigade is likely being formed from one of its subordinate units.
